Joe practices primarily in the areas of employment and civil rights litigation in federal and state court. Joe recovers unpaid wages and overtime for employees, as well as damages caused by unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation. He also advises employees on responding to employee discipline and represents employees seeking unemployment benefits. Joe seeks redress on behalf of clients for civil rights abuses and police misconduct. In addition, Joe has litigated cases involving insurance bad faith, personal injury, housing discrimination, and criminal post-conviction relief.

PERSONAL
During law school, Joe worked for various entities in the public sector, including the Environment Division of the Department of Justice, the Consumer Protection Division of the Washington Attorney General's Office, and The Defender Association. He was also elected class representative of his law school class for two consecutive years. Joe served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in national parks in Madagascar from 1994-1997.
