Clerk to Hon. Prentice H. Marshall, U.S. District Court, Northern District of
Illinois, 1976-78. Ester practices in immigration law. She is past President of
the Washington Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and has taught immigration law and a VAWA immigration clinic as an adjunct
professor at the Seattle University School of Law. She has written several articles on labor
certifications, ethics, and business immigration in immigration law
publications. She has lectured locally, regionally, and nationally at
immigration law seminars. Ester has served on the Seattle Human Rights
Commission and has worked with organizations protecting the rights of aliens.
She has been listed in "The Best Lawyers
in America" in the field of immigration law for
more than ten years. She is a Washington
Super Lawyer for 2005. She has been active on local, regional, and
national Department of Labor liaison committees of the American Immigration
Lawyers Association. She was co-editor of
AILA's Department of Labor Directory for Immigration Lawyers, 2002 and 2003
editions. She currently
serves on AILA’s PERM Implementation Committee. For many years, she
held the responsibility of Senior Editor of the AILA Annual
Handbook. She is Co-Editor in Chief of the Third Edition of AILA’s David
Stanton Manual on Labor Certification. (2005), the leading reference of the new PERM labor
certification system. Ester is a member of IMMLAW, a national consortium of
noted immigration lawyers. She appears in the International Who's Who of
Business Immigration Lawyers, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who of
American Women.
